Old Dominion
Boat Club Brings
New Faces to
Alexandria
Alexandria, VA (August 8,
2005) – There will be a lot of activity this weekend on our
Potomac waterfront as well as in Old Town Alexandria. The Old
Dominion Boat Club will host a “Party on the Potomac Raft-Up”
August 13 & 14. Proceeds from the event will be donated to the
Alexandria Seaport Foundation.
Yacht Clubs that are members of
PRYCA (Potomac River Yacht Club Association) as far away as
Colonial Beach and the Anacostia River will join ODBC in
celebrating the Club’s 125th Anniversary. All slips
at the Alexandria City Marina have been rented for the weekend.
Those unable to obtain slips will raft-up in front of ODBC and
the City Marina.
Lorraine Lloyd, Commodore of
ODBC and coordinator of the event, says “The weekend event
promises to bring new faces to Old Town Alexandria’s restaurants
and shops.”
The Alexandria Fire Department,
Harbor Police, and Coast Guard will work with ODBC to make it a
safe and successful event.
