PARADE OF LIGHTS

Saturday, December 3

From the Commodore:   2016 Registration is Now Open for DC Parade of Lights---Saturday, December 3

Please join us as we celebrate 25 Years of Merriment on the Potomac River—from the docks of Old Town Alexandria to the District’s Southwest Waterfront!

The Saturday, December 3 Parade of Lights organizing committee is now actively recruiting Captains and their hearty crews to join in the fun.

Registration is now open and easily accessible at: www.dcboatparade.eventbrite.com

Parade registration is limited to 60 boats, so please do not delay in signing up for the 25th Anniversary version of this landmark Holiday event—there will be lots of new surprises to mark this milestone anniversary. Alexandria City Dock is providing free dockage Fridayand Saturday evenings for parade-registered boaters.

The ODBC Commodore is looking for a Captain interested in supplying and manning a "chase boat" at the Alexandria end of the Parade.  The object will be to organize the line of boats in the proper order to pass the judges' stand.  The boat should be nimble, be in the 20 foot range in length, have a VHF radio (I can provide a portable) and have one crew member to be a "communicator", either on the radio or via bullhorn. Captain and crew will be invited to attend the after party in DC.

If interested please contact the Commodore at bkgard123@aol.com.
